Terms & Conditions


All cakes made by Cherry Blossom Designer Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions. By making payment, it will be deemed that the terms are understood and accepted as applying to your order.


  1. Your initial deposit reserves your date and is non refundable. For wedding cakes or larger orders we require £100 deposit, all other orders we require £30. Any orders with a value of £30 or less must be paid in full at the time of ordering. Deposits are required within 48 hours for occasion orders and within 7 days for wedding cakes.

  2. Payments should be made via bank transfer or in store via card. We no longer accept cash payments.

  3. We must receive the remaining balance by the due date indicated or contract is null and void and deposit will not be refunded.

  4. For wedding cakes the final payment is due 4 weeks before collection/delivery date and is the final date for any changes to size, style or flavours to that order. Any changes requested after this date will incur additional charges. For celebration cakes, the final date for alterations is 2 weeks before the collection date.

  5. Any designs or sketches provided remain the intellectual property of Cherry Blossom Designer Cakes and must not be passed on or created by another cake designer, professional or otherwise.

  6. Cancellations and alternations must be notified in writing by the person who placed the order and the initial deposit is strictly non refundable. No refund will be given if a wedding cake is cancelled with less than 4 weeks before wedding date due to the loss of business and costs already incurred.

  7. Covid 19 policy – We can move your order to another date in the same calendar year without any charge. Any move to the following calendar year will be subject to yearly price increase. As stated previously changes to size and design can be made right up to 4 weeks before your wedding date. No refund will be given if cancelled less than 4 weeks before wedding. However no charge will incur if this is due to a national lockdown.

  8. Delivery and set up is an additional charge unless otherwise stated.

  9. We are not responsible for damage after we have set up your cake at the venue. If you choose to collect your order, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Cherry Blossom Designer Cakes possession. The cake should be placed on a flat surface, e.g. footwell or boot of the collection vehicle ideally on a non slip mat.

  10. For cake stand hire, a hire fee plus security deposit is required. The stand must be returned within 4 calendar days after event. The deposit will not be returned if the stand is damaged or is returned after 4 days.

  11. We reserve the right to use all photographs of the cake for advertising purposes and to publish these on our website and social media.

  12. Cakes are made in premises where wheat, nuts, eggs, milk and other allergens are used. Whilst every effort is taken to keep ingredients separate our cakes may still contain traces. The buyer is responsible for informing guests of potential allergy hazards, which will be provided on a collection/ delivery note.

  13. Our cakes may contain non-edible ingredients or decorations, such as plastic dowels in tiered cakes or wires in some sugar flowers. These will be detailed on the collection/delivery note and must be removed before serving or eating.

  14. If flowers are provided from an outside source you acknowledge that fresh flowers are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt or other contaminants.

  15. Goods placed outside are liable to react to the temperature. In hot or humid weather there is the possibility of sugar decorations melting or damage. Please keep cakes out of direct sunlight.

  16. Sponge cakes are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration, however they can be consumed for up to 3 days if stored correctly. Shelf life and storage instructions will be provided on the collection/ delivery note for occasion orders. For wedding orders, full cake details are provided to the venue on delivery.

  17. Fondant is not designed to be refrigerated and as such cakes with this icing should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably in the box they were supplied in. Refrigeration may cause colours to run and will cause damage to fondant decorations/ sugar flowers.

  18. If you wish to make a complaint to us then evidence of any faults, damages or discrepancies should be sent in writing. Any uneaten cake should be returned within 24 hours for inspection if there is a problem with it. Refunds will never be given for any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute. Any refunds will be given entirely at our discretion.

  19. In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for any reason, then we will give you as much notice as possible, and discuss the matter with you and try to agree a suitable alternative. If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the full price to you.

  20. We cannot be held liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside our control, including but not limited to any fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, act of God, or from any industrial dispute or strike.
